Having traveled a bit through Paris and south of France back in November, I couldn’t help but notice how different the approach of French is when it comes to beauty compared to the rest of the world.

The French are known for their “je ne sais quoi” (translates to “I do not know what”) vibe, but the same can’t be said about their makeup. Because (between you and I) they know EXACTLY what they’re doing.  The French are masters at accentuating the best that mother nature gave them without overpowering their natural beauty.

With that said, I can claim with certainty that the French are a skin first nation. Meaning, they place a tremendous amount of importance on great looking skin. (And granted, there is a French “Pharmacie” on every corner.) Makeup is secondary, but just as important. It’s all about good measure. Not too little, not too much. Just the right amount.

Ready to say oui? Here’s how you can achieve the French vibe using JOAH Beauty products.

Start with the base.

Consider skin prep your most important step. After cleansing with Heal Me CICA Gentle Foam Cleanser, make sure to follow up with the Heal Me CICA Toner Pads (12.99) to lift away impurities, smooth your complexion and reduce the look of pores and redness.

Follow up with the Morning Glow Hydrating Overnight Mask (11.99) for a boost of hydration. Finally, apply some SPF and our Sugar Doctor Lip Renewal Mask ($9.99) for a perfectly prepped pout.

Get the look.

The most common combos of makeup products that I’ve witnessed people wearing were following:

Black winged eyeliner and fiery red lip

We recommend our LINE UP Brush Tip Liquid Eyeliner ($9.99) and Air Light Satin Lipstick in “Fireworks” ($7.99).

Voluminous mascara and cherry red lip. JOAH’s High Roller Legendary Volume Mascara ($9.99) and Endless Long Wear Liquid Lipstick in “Happy Hour” ($8.99) make the perfect combo.

Cat eye and nude lip.

Can’t go wrong with LINE UP Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in “Brown” ($9.99) and t.m.i Velvet Lipstick in “Please Me” ($8.99).

Voilà!

That’s all you really need to achieve that IT GIRL look (French edition). Which look are you going to try? Here’s some inspo…
